Eastern Culture Anywhere!

Okay, so my family has spent a lot of time learning about Eastern cultures and languages. My sister spent a year learning to speak and teach in Hindi (Now, she and my mother are with a Farsi/Persian group). The group she was with does everything they can to learn as much about the cultures and practices. They learned all the special dances and practiced their spoken word for hours on end.

And they wear the traditional garb; you know, those vibrant, bright-colored outfits that look super comfy?

Now, I've lived in Texas my whole life, so you wouldn't think I'd see it that much, right? Wrong.

San Antonio has a great many areas full of these people who have come from Eastern cultures to the United States for one reason or another. I've been told that it's pretty hard to find these outfits in the States. Then I found the perfect place: FleAffair. FleAffair is India's first online flea market.

I know what you're thinking: A flea market? Isn't that like hand-me-downs and old, musty stuff? Why would I want to order something like that?

Rest assured, FleAffair is more like an online mall than a flea market. The only thing that makes it a "flea market" is that it also serves as an outlet for those who make hand-crafted jewelry, purses, scarves, crocheted things and so much more.

Not to mention, they also have sections for Western culture, men, kids, crafts... Basically, anything you can think of, it's there. Need a wedding dress saree or salwar? Going to a Bollywood party and don't have the appropriate attire? Tired of the "sexualized" versions in costume stores? FleAffair's got you covered.

And don't even get me started on the Arts and Crafts section. I'm a total craft nut. They've got bookmarks, notebooks, crochet and knitting supplies, stationery; I love it all and they've got it. They have a great "Do It Yourself" section where people have blogged about their projects that you should definitely read.

Also, there are always great sales going on and they are very easy to find on the website. If you look at the site reviews and testimonials, you will see that this site is definitely top-notch. One such review said of their shopping experience: "Product received in perfect condition. Product is the same as mentioned in the offer. I was pleasantly surprised with merchant & Mr. Mohit for their efforts for delivering the product well on time. It’s heartening to see efforts of Mr. Mohit to ensure the delivery. He was constantly in touch with and responded very positively. Thank you so much for such a wonderful shopping experience. Looking forward to future purchases."

Another said of a saree she had ordered: "Beautiful Saree. Good Quality. The saree is exactly as shown in the picture. Delivery was made in time and FleAffair.com will keep you posted on the shipment details." If these experiences and testimonials haven't inspired you to check out this amazing site, I don't know what will but I know where I'm shopping for my next Bollywood party...or anything for that matter.
