Happiness– A Reason To Buy Handmade

"Happiness is Handmade"  a well renowned quotation speaks the importance of handmade items in our life. Then why do people say “I love the stuff, but it’s very expensive”, when they see the handmade products.

I wonder why people always complain on shelling out  money to buy handmade products as they find machine made products  much cheaper than former.

I agree  the cost of handmade items are always higher than  the price of machine made products but the cost of  almost everything is increasing due to the inflation.

There are several reasons for the higher prices of the handmade products.

Exclusivity:

Superior in the quality, the handmade products are unique in their own sense. Every handmade product is unique because of their exclusive designs and their type of being hand crafted. Every pattern, color is different from the other product.

As it requires hand work, it takes days to make one product. The artisan has to work for long hours to make one product which makes it costlier than those machine work. From cutting to polishing every stage require long days. The artisan work for days to complete one product and is paid for that. This makes the product costly.

Your goods are the best on the block.  Cool, trendy, unique, and usually one-of-a kind, you can find some really awesome handmade stuff that’ll make everyone ask “Where can I get one?”

Finishing:

Also the handmade products are much more superior in quality than those made in machines. These products are finished products with very minute detailing in them. The labor has become very costly due to the inflation

Durability:

Handmade products are high-quality that are built to last. The machine made goods probably fall apart in a year or two, but handmade items have longevity.  Artisans have pride in their work, and want it to last.  Even the materials are hand-picked by an individual and are worked on with full dedication and hard work.

Customization:

Since each and every item is made by hand, and you are usually talking directly to the person making it, you can tweak the color or size of something you are interested in, or even get a fully commissioned custom order done.

Go Green:

Handmade items aren’t made in a waste-producing factory and shipped halfway around the world using fuel and energy.  Buying handmade (especially really locally) can greatly reduce your carbon footprint on the world.

This gives me enough reasons to buy handmade items. I believe anyone who is reading this will agree to what is mentioned above.
